Help! How Do I Use Cold Plasma?

Shopping for the 28 Day Diet

Amanda is busy mother of two and an avid cook. Today, she shares her shopping tips for the 28 Day Diet.

Do you ever find yourself going up and down the same aisles in the grocery store, tossing the same  items into the basket, planning to prepare the same  meals, and snack on the same familiar items – all out habit? If you answered yes, you’re like most of us.

It’s widely accepted that it takes 28 days to create a new habit. By the end of Dr. Perricone’s 2010 Start Fresh Challenge, that is exactly what I had accomplished; a new habit of navigating the grocery store (as well as glowing skin). When your kitchen is filled with anti-inflammatory foods, meal planning and entertaining become effortless.  Here are my tips to creating a new thought process as you maneuver the 28 day menu:

  • Choose low glycemic fruits: apples, pears, berries and melons.
  • Look for a rainbow of vegetables: kale, cauliflower, beets, asparagus, and bell peppers.
  • Rely on the convenience of canned goods: nuts, salmon, tuna, sardines, olives, artichokes, and beans.
  • Say “Cheese!” Edam, Gouda, Goat Cheese, Blue Cheese, Cottage Cheese, Parmesan, and Feta.

Start Fresh with a Partner

This January, Lola will be doing her 3rd Start Fresh Challenge with Perricone MD.

The last two Start Fresh Challenges were game-changing for me. I was amazed by how easy it was to stick to the 28 Day Diet,  how great I felt and how clear and firm my skin looked. I had so much fun doing the challenge with my fellow Perricone Facebook fans, that last year, I recruited my sweetheart, David, to join me.

Doing the Start Fresh Challenge together was a great bonding experience. Supporting one another during workouts and enjoying our meals together kept us honest and creative. We even learned things about each other and about our relationship that no other experience could have given us along the way. We came out 28 days later not only leaner and more energetic, but closer to one another as a result.  We used to go to the gym and go our separate ways (me to a yoga class and him to the free weights).  But thanks to Start Fresh, we started trying new workouts together and now we have more quality time together and feel closer because we champion each other to get out that last rep or kick a little higher in Zumba class.

If you have someone in your life that you want to give the gift of health, you will be amazed as you watch them transformed by this lifestyle plan.  After all, what says “I love you” more than getting healthy together so that you have more time together and more fun in that time.

I would strongly suggest finding a friend, family member or loved one to join you in the challenge.  If you can’t find someone, don’t worry- you’ll find lots of fellow challengers on the Perricone Facebook Page who will encourage you every step of the way- don’t be surprised if you make some lasting friendships too!

David and I have stuck to the Perricone lifestyle since our last challenge with a few exceptions (hey, we had to have a Mai Tai or two when we hit the beaches in our short-shorts!) but we are ready to kick it up a notch this time around!
