Neuropeptide Deep Wrinkle Serum

A Filler on the Go

I consider Deep Wrinkle Serum to be a kind of a skincare swiss army knife. It hydrates, “fills”, plumps and calms almost any skin type instantly. I tend to be on the normal/oily side, with some dryness in certain areas, like the area around my eyes and in the smile creases and this is my favorite way to hydrate those targeted areas. While it may be no news that adequately hydrated skin doesn’t show imperfections like fine lines and wrinkles as obviously, I have to say that the results of Deep Wrinkle Serum are well beyond just basic hydration. It’s actually kind of magical to watch. Deep Wrinkle Serum has almost a water-like fluid texture and is packed with a potent cocktail of Neuropeptides and phospholipids, which, together relax the lines (almost like the stiffness of the line is gone) and go to work repairing the tiny micro-tears that make up the wrinkle, giving a significant ‘plumping effect’. Thanks to the sodium hyaluronic acid base, it actually binds moisture to your skin throughout the day, ensuring that makeup goes on more evenly and no cake-y patches occur.

Remember, you will see instant results, but only with continued use will you see skin transforming benefits. Lastly, I love that it’s a clean formulation, free of synthetic waxes, actual fillers, optical diffusers, fragrances or parabens in this serum.

My Deep Wrinkle Serum Tips:

  • Add a drop or two under the eye area before you apply your eye treatment.
  • Massage the drops into any visible line- you’ll see a difference.
  • Add a drop to the lip area before applying a lip treatment. Lips appear fuller and more hydrated.
  • Keep it in your purse and dap a drop on here or there throughout the day.

anti inflammatory asparagus

Make Your Own Makeup

I’ll admit it: blush frightens me.

The fear of unwittingly replicating Raggedy Anne’s look is ever present. Blush is so…subjective. Where, exactly, does the blush go? And what color does one use?

And as if those questions were not are vexing enough, we haven’t even gotten to talk of the canvas. Once placement and pigment are accounted for, the considerations of the skin need to be addressed.

Rachel and I concluded that skin looks best when dewy. Our moisturizers, like Face Finishing Moisturizer, leave skin dewy and glowing. So, we thought that by combining one of our favorite blushes (Orgasm by Nars) with one of our favorite moisturizers (Face Finishing Moisturizer from Perricone MD) that we could make an easy to use and flattering cream blush.

To our delight, it worked- and we wanted to share this demo with you. Try it out and let us know what you think!

3 Picks for Dry Skin

Perriconista Alesha discusses her 3 picks for dry skin.

My skin tends to be combination/oily in the T-zone, but prone to dryness, irritation and the occasional breakout- so I demand a lot from my products. Here are my top 3 picks for dry skin:

1. Nutritive Cleanser- Never makes my skin feel tight or dry. I use it with my hands and also my Clarisonic.

2. Deep Moisture Therapy- This moisturizer has saved my skin! Leaves my skin hydrated and soft. I’m prone to dry patches around my nose and mouth, which Deep Moisture Therapy has totally gotten rid of. It makes my face literally glow.

Tip: This product is concentrated so use very little. I like to heat the product between fingers and palm and press into the skin. Layer over any Perricone MD treatment.

3. Hypo Firming Eye Cream- I originally bought it for my husband but after using it, its become an essential part of my eye care- I love it over Acyl Lid! Amazing combination.

anti inflammatory thyme

Anti Inflammatory Dressing

At as many as 150 calories per 2 tablespoons, some dressings can almost neutralize the health benefits of eating a salad- especially if made with hydrogenated or low-quality oils.

This versatile dressing recipe contains raw garlic to preserve the allicin compound responsible for many of garlic’s health benefits, including its Glutathione content. Depending on the amount of garlic you add, it can pack a spicy punch and can be tweaked to showcase different flavors. For example, adding a bit of extra tarragon and rosemary  gives a Provencal taste, whereas additional basil and Parmesan gives more of an Italian taste.

Bonus: Add anchovies for DMAE and Omega-3 benefits while increasing the Caesar-like experience.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Olive Oil
  • ½ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2-4 tables spoons of fresh herbs minced (thyme, basil, rosemary, tarragon are all recommended)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Pepper to taste
  • Chili flake (optional) to taste

Directions:

1. Combine ingredients in blender and blend until well mixed.
2. Use right away and store  excess in an air tight container

Garlic

The Allium/Glutathione Connection

Dr. Perricone’s #2 super food (and key element in his anti inflammatory recipes) iis the seemingly humble allium family. Members of the allium family include garlic, onions, leeks and chives and are found in nearly every world cuisine. Garlic, onions, leeks and chives contain flavonoids that stimulate the body’s production of glutathione, which is incredibly beneficial ,as glutathione enhances in the elimination of toxins and carcinogens. For optimum health boosting effects, try to eat garlic raw as cooking can destroy some of the allicin compound, which is the active “ingredient” or constituent responsible for the health benefits.
