Coffee is a time honored (and sometimes costly) habit that elevates cortisol levels and, according to Dr. Perricone, could even be responsible for the “muffin top”. Interested in breaking the habit, but sick of regular tea?

Dandelion Root Tea is a great alternative. As the name suggests, it’s made from the root of  dandelions, which have been historically promoted for their medicinal and health-promoting benefits (dandelion greens are great in salads too).  An added bonus is that its incredibly beneficial for liver function and restoring compromised or damaged livers (if you’ve been known to enjoy a cocktail, take note).

The rich, earthy flavor of the tea is wonderful with coconut or regular milk. Adding some cardomon, cinnamon or fresh grated ginger gives Dandelion tea almost a chai-like flavor.
