Today’s guest blogger, Amanda, a busy mother of 2 loves to cook and entertain incorporating staples from the anti inflammatory kitchen. Today she shares one of her favorite anti aging treats: Pecans.
It’s harvest season and I’m enjoying the aromatic scent of spiced pecans baking in my kitchen. When I need a little zest in my menu, I turn to this Dr. Perricone favorite. Did you know that pecans:
- Contain over 90% heart-healthy, fats making them anti aging treats
- Can help fight diseases like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Cancer and heart disease
- Have over 19 vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, vitamin E, folic acid, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, photassium, several B vitamins and zinc
- Play a role in lowering cholesterol and aids in weight loss and maintenance
Tip: When I want to share a homemade treat that is healthier and more sophisticated than cookies or sweets I make a batch of spiced pecans and pair them in a chic glass container for a healthy gift.
Do you have a favorite nut?

How do you make spice sweet pecan treat?
Great info, sadly pecans and walnuts are the two I really don’t care for- need to cultivate this taste I guess.
Amanda what a lovely gift, the gift of good health. I’m attending a dinner party this weekend, I’ll be bringing the hostess some of these! Thanks.
