Exercise for Younger Looking Skin

by

Mountains of studies prove that exercise takes off pounds, reduces heart disease, lowers blood pressure, improves mood, solves sleep problems, and cuts risks of certain cancers. Another lesser known benefit of exercise is it ensures beautiful skin.  Exercise benefits the skin in much the same way that it improves bone and muscle quality. Without regular activity, bones become fragile and muscles atrophy. When the skin of regular exercisers is examined, the impact of their high fitness levels is clearly apparent. The skin is thicker and  collagen, the fibers that give the skin its strength and flexibility is more abundant. Exercise also increases circulation and gives the skin a healthy and radiant glow.

What exercise routine do you do to keep your body and complexion healthy and younger-looking?

  1. Jazzercise-several days a week. Just the right amount of cardio and some great strength training all in one hour long workout- dance based with great music variety. It is like going out to a club with better health benefits.

  2. Another benefit of exercise! I do the T-Tapp workout program at home, and like to switch between a few of the DVDs to keep my routine fresh. It’s such an effective workout program and combines aerobics, strength training and stretching into one routine. Plus, the results speak for themselves. Love it!

  3. work as PT, walk 4xweek, moderate to heavy strength train 3xweek. Often told I don’t look like 49, almost 50. I don’t move like 50yo. Still lift pts heavier than me and I work FT. Tai chi chuan, qigong and meditation round out my plan.
