Glutathione – A Plant’s Best Friend

Interestingly, it isn’t just humans who respond to the chief master antioxidant glutathione.  Plants also produce it, and when they are injured, they produce more of it.  Studies have shown that insects will preferentially feed on injured plants.  When insects are getting this extra glutathione, they become larger.  Other studies have shown that boosting tissue levels of glutathione in mosquitoes causes them to live 40% longer.
