Numerous studies validating the cancer-fighting properties of watercress continue to appear in medical journals.  Studies include human trials in Germany and the University of Minnesota that indicated that watercress consumption can repair damaged DNA.  Studies in the United Kingdom of breast cancer survivors, published in early 2010, have recorded equally impressive results.

If you haven’t incorporated this cruciferous vegetable into your diet, what are you waiting for?  Mix watercress in with your regular greens, or try it on it’s own combined with lemon, olive oil and cracked pepper for a delicious and healthy side salad.

  1. Love Watercress !! My trainer – who lives in the UK and has worked with me via text and e-mail got me hooked. What a pleasant surprise when I opened my copy of Forever Young and found the menus he had planned for me were like yours!!!

I mix watercress, salmon, and a dash of horseradish and lemon with a SMALL portion of Linguine – fast and yummy especially after a work out.
