Did you know?
An important polyphenol antioxidant, epigallocatechinallate (EGCG), is present in green tea. This antioxidant prevents the activation of collagen-digesting enzymes known as matrix metalloproteinase. This is a critical function because these enzymes are responsible for wrinkling of the skin. EGCG is also believed to be responsible for much of green tea’s promise in the prevention of cardiovascular disease, obesity, Alzheimer’s, cancer, periodontal disease and dental cavities.
Tip: Add 1-2 cups of green tea to your day to help prevent wrinkles.
