Forever Young – Designer Genes for Flawless Skin

by

When eaten, food-based nutrients can alter gene expression.  As a dermatologist, I have been particularly delighted to learn that when these nutrients are also applied topically, they can regulate the expression of genes that decrease and/or prevent inflammation.  At the same time, they suppress the onset of age-related diseases.  By assisting the cell’s normal ability to repair itself, we will see a more youthful appearance with positive, visible changes in a matter of days.

  1. I used to have a very smooth, glowing, non greasy skin. But after a couple of years (now I’m 55) I begin with some blemishes and greasy skin, even in the Perricone diet. Should I add an extra supplement or treatment to help me with this condition?

  2. I am trying to find a way to help my thirteen year old daughter with her severe acne. I have been to two dermatologists, one prescribed high vitamin A treatment, and the other doxycycline hyclate. I do not feel comfortable with either of these treatments and was wondering if you have any natural treatment for severe acne?

  3. What do you recommend for someone with rosacea? My face seems to turn red when ever I eat(most foods), get hot/cold, wind and sometimes just for no reason at all. My doctor put my on medicine but I wonder if I can control it or fix it by eating the right foods. Please help!!

    • Hi Stacy. Rosacea can be one of the most difficult chronic skin conditions to manage. Adding more essential fatty acids into your diet will be highly beneficial to your skin. Try to incorporate cold water fish, raw nuts, extra virgin olive oil, avocado, olives, flax and chia seeds into your diet regularly. If you are looking for soothing topicals that diminish redness, Cold Plasma is a great option.
