I would consider black, white or green teas as an alternative. Perhaps the antioxidants in the tea could rid the cravings for the alcohol.
I used to drink black coffee, up to six cups per day, and started drinking green tea and water instead. The coffee craving left.

I simply quit altogether. My digestive tract was ‘cranky,’ my reaction time was slurred (even when I was not under the direct influence of alcohol) and I was retaining unwanted weight. Just STOP..cold turkey. That will reduce anyone’s consumption of alcohol. They’d be better off eating red grapes & taking reservatrol!
