Congratulations Eve!

What was your biggest body success resulting from the 28-day challenge?
Unfortunately I did not weigh myself at the beginning of the challenge but, for me, this was not about a number comparison but another attempt to find a solution about my unexplained weight gain. During the challenge I dropped 3 pant sizes! I was wearing a size 14 in January and am now comfortably wearing a 10 and snuggly fit into my old size 8 jeans! I must say the most significant transformation in my body was the deflation of my stomach. I also lost inches in every area of my body and noticed a smoother look to my skin on my face and body.

How did your skin change?
I have always had more reddish lines and bumps on my face which I cover with makeup. Over the course of the last two months, since being on the Perricone diet, the redness reduced significantly and there is a reduction in the depth of the wrinkles around my eyes.

What’s the impact on your daily life?
I have so much more energy since taking the Start Fresh! 28-day challenge! I am excited about eating the “right” food combinations and watching my body respond in such a positive and dramatic way. Every morning I can’t wait to look in the mirror to see how my body has changed from the work I did the day and weeks before.

Two years ago I started gaining weight although I had not changed my diet or exercise routine. The weight was increasing quickly and I could not figure out why. I visited doctors and was told I had a hypothyroid and put on prescription drugs. They did not work. I went back to the doctor and was told that I had elevated cortisol levels due to stress and that I should work on stress reduction. As a single mother who recently lost her job stress was an unavoidable obstacle. Since starting the Start Fresh! 28-day challenge and watching my weight loss, I am happy to share my experience and possibly help others. I am happy to have overcome this two year long obstacle and happily share this transformation which has reduced my stress.

Is the 28-day meal plan something you can sustain?
This is my new way of life and I have continued eating the Perricone way and exercising since the challenge ended. I am never hungry, my body feels nourished and I am full of energy! Also, it makes it a lot easier to go to the gym when you have energy and it promotes the relationship between the Perricone diet and continuing to exercise.

What are your tips to success?
I have found that by taking a little extra time in the morning to plan what I am going to eat throughout the day has helped me stay on track. It has helped me to eat foods that promote weight loss and give me energy. In addition, I was invited to take the challenge by my friend. We have supported each other by making food for each other, sharing recipes and reporting our exercise. This has really helped our accountability!

  1. CONGRATULATIONS! It is outstanding and inspiring to read about your success, keep up the great work! I hope you continue to feel amazing and believe in yourself!

  2. Congratulations, Eve. It’s always nice to hear these type of stories. I’m ready to start the challenge. Any advice? Thanks.

  3. Eat 4 your blood type. & whatever it is, get off wheat (all forms, even whole) & corn (oil, syrup & the cooked vegetable itself). These are proven pro-inflammatories & metabolism decreasers. (what’s a fatty steak of note: Iowa cornfed!).

Soy & corn are the most GMO’d foods in the history of agri-business.

Drink your foods & chew your liquids.

    Magic daily elixir:

In the Vitamix (a conventional juicer will remove the precious pulp) : kale, carrot, parsely, tomato, english cuke, jalapeno pepper & jicama–all raw. Blend in: tsp EVOO, raw apple cider vinegar & bragg’s aminos or tamari sauce & u got ur own healthy v-8 (give or take) juice. Get creative!

No wrinkles & age 46. No kidding.

True story: my sis is 11 mos. older. After not having seen her in 3.5 yrs, I said in surprise, “I didn’t know u had a cleft chin.”

“I don’t, it’s what happens when ur face starts falling in.”

So I thank God 4 my daily elixir, every day.

    Have a blessed day.

  4. In the after pic she’s simply standing up straight, has a better hair style, has makeup on and probably wearing Spank under her clothes. Your eyes will fool you into believing whatever you want. I bet they won’t’ let me post this comment.

  5. Hi Moe Moe,
I’m not wearing Spanx in the after picture but that is a good idea because I’m still not down to where I want to be. I didn’t use any Perricone products during the challenge. I just ate the right foods in the right combinations and voila. I have lost more weight since the end of the contest and just got back from a wonderful trip to NewYork. I learned something from Eileen at the flagship store that I think is really important for others with hypothyriod-Soy is not good for hypothyroid! I was eating a lot of it before and will reduce my consumption of tofu now that I am back home. Good luck to you Moe Moe. Touch back after about a month of trying the lifestyle (eating program).
    All my best,
    Eve

  6. You look great! Keep up the good work! I know you’re probably seeing a nice change in your skin since beginning to use Perricone products. I have used them for a few years now and I believe they are the best skincare products available. What I appreciate about Dr. Perricone’s products is that they are scientifically formulated for efficacy– they actually do what they claim with good science backing up those claims. Congratulations on being one of the three winners! Btw– isn’t Eileen at the New York store a doll? She always taken such fantastic care of me!
    God bless,
    Johanna
