A simple rule to remember is this: if food is made by nature and you are eating it in its unadulterated form, it is a good choice, with the possible exception of the potato. Juice, for example, doesn’t exist in nature but must be extracted from the fruit by physical means, making it a less desirable form of carbohydrate. if the food is processed in some way (other than cooked), it is more than likely not a good choice.
