10 Foods That Help Prevent Breast Cancer

Our food plays a critical role, for both good and bad. New research continues to unlock the secrets of how foods (and nutritional supplements) influence every aspect of our physical and mental well-being—including the prevention of cancers. A quick example is the following: We all have been told that broccoli and the cruciferous vegetables help prevent cancer. But until now, we didn’t know how or why.

To help prevent breast cancer, add these veggies to your daily diet:

  1. Arugula
  2. Brussels sprouts
  3. Broccoli
  4. Cauliflower
  5. Cabbage or Chinese cabbage
  6. Greens – Mustard or Collard
  7. Kale
  8. Radishes
  9. Swiss chard
  10. Turnips

A word of caution: raw cruciferous vegetables contain thyroid inhibitors known as goitrogens. People who have hypothyroid function should consider limiting their intake of these veggies in the raw state. Steaming cruciferous vegetables is recommended.
