Cabernet Sauvignon will keep you young

Red wine contains a powerful heart-healthy, anti-cancer, anti-aging antioxidant called resveratrol. It also appears that resveratrol helps protect the skin against the sun’s UV radiation. Cabernet Sauvignon grapes have the highest concentration of antioxidants. Just be sure to keep it to one glass, and have your wine with a meal to mitigate the inflammatory effects of alcohol.

As an active researcher, I welcome your comments and suggestions.

  1. You get better every day!! I love wine but decided to cut it out o my life to keep my weight down..a glass triggers over-eating..second helpings..yadayada!! And Dr.P spoils me!!

  2. You are mistaken about cabernet having the most antioxidants. We in the South know that Musdadine grapes produce 40 times the resveratrol as regular red grapes. Muscadine wine is usually sweeter, and better as a dessert wine. There are different wineries that produce it. An example is Duplin Winery in Rose Hill, NC. Carolina Red is the best of their basic offerings, and not expensive. We can get it in the grocery store in Raleigh.

  3. Dear Dr. Perricone,
I dont know if this is the right place to ask my Q. I have combination (dry cheeks/forehead and slight oinly nose area) skin with pigmentation here & there, fine lines, little sagging at jawline/chin and sometimes sensitive skin. What of your products will suit me best? Please advise from cleanser to everything. I live in a all year round hot weather, do you ship to Kuala Lumpur?

  4. My husband and I have been drinking Cabernet Sauvignon for years. Perhaps this is why we remain free from illness and/or colds and influenza.
Our preference is for the French variety as it is less sweet than American.

  5. I am new to the Perricone Line, but am absolutely loving it!!
I get so excited about each and every Product that I purchase and get to try for the first time!
As far as resveratrol, it can simply be taken in pill form, if you don’t want to get the benefits from the wine.
I say anything that can help us look better and feel better is worth a try!

  6. Hello!
I have a great idea, along with all the Products and information, there should also be guides for the order in which to use each Product, as it can sometimes become confusing to some people?
I know that there are different regimes for different skin types, but to list them would be great!
Sometimes I wonder if all the products that I am putting on are actually getting into my skin? Is there such a thing as using too many Products at one time? Can they all sink in and do their work? Is our skin really like a sponge?

  7. I do believe a little red wine is great for us, but why is it up there on the world health organisations list of carcinogenics, along with sunbeds!!
It’s confusing to be told one thing is good and bad?!
    Is it just moderation?
