As is often the case, the most effective skin care products and regimes involve both an oral and topical component, each working to enhance the effects of the other. Pycnogenol has proven to be no exception. When both tiers are used synergistically, studies have found the following benefits:
- A visible improvement in the appearance and size of discoloration and brown spots
- An overall brightening of the skin
- Protection against further photo damage
- Gentle exfoliation of damaged cells
- A smoothing of fine lines
- Improved elasticity
Safety and Efficacy
Thanks to extensive studies conducted by its parent company Horphag Research, Pycnogenol has been found to be a safe and effective way to achieve a fair skin free of the dark spots or patches safely and without any side-effects. More than 190 scientific articles and clinical trials have confirmed Pycnogenol’s safety, absence of toxicity and clinical efficacy over the past 35 years. In fact Pycnogenol ® is one of the most researched ingredients in the natural product marketplace. Published findings have demonstrated Pycnogenol’s beneficial effects in cardiovascular health, skincare, cognitive function, diabetes health, inflammation, sports nutrition, asthma and allergy relief and menstrual disorders, among others.
Hello Dr.
I am Italian and have always had beautiful skin, but have noticed since I moved to GA that I am now seeing brown spots on my face which concerns me; I see all sorts of natural remedies online such as sandlewood and lemon and such, but I don’t what tobe experimenting with my skin right now. I have very sensitive skin and have allergies on top of that what should I be doing? Should I use soap should I not what about face lotion I am so reluctant to use anything for fear of the toxic effect from it. I hope you choose to read my post and respond as I know you cant respond to all who ask you something, but I am so concerned. Someone recommended a product called Artistry but its $63 a bottle to get rid of brown spots its alot to spend on a gamble if you ask me.
Marie
Dear Marie,
Thank you for your question. Dr. Perricone does have a couple of new products called Pigment Corrective System, which are designed to help with discolorations. If you have sensitive skin and are prone to allergies, we strongly recommend patch testing Dr. Perricone’s products for three consecutive days to establish skin compatibility. We do offer a 30 day return policy in the event you are unable to use any product.
Dr. Perricone also offers a line of products specifically for sensitive skin called Olive Oil Polyphenols. If you wish, you may start with these products first, then try the Pigment Corrective if you are leery about trying new products. If you would like to try a sample of our Olive Oil Face Hydrator, please forward your address to me at alexis@nvperriconemd.com.
I hope this helps.
