fyi……There’s some great information in these newsletters. Of course the Chinese have a natural, holistic approach. Much of the treatment involves acupuncture, but there’s also some great nutritional advice.
If you are hostessing, try a large baking dish of roasted vegetables drizzled with olive oil. New potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash,zuchini, onion. Sprinkle with garlic salt & parsley!
Get everybody to go for walks with you. People who wouldn’t dream of going for a walk any other time will take a walk with Nana over the Thanksgiving weekend. Gets the heartrate up and away from the food! I stick with turkey and salad. Make sure to make a beautiful, baby corn, mushrooms, artichoke hearts, garbonza beans, chopped apples, olives, salad. Oh, and I have real whipped cream on my coffee after dinner. That’s enough dessert, thank you!
I have a small bowl of clear soup or whatever is available before anything else at the meal. It tells my blood sugar that food is on the way.
